How do we share the story of Justworks to new customers?
CLIENT // Justworks
DESCRIPTION // This is a 28-page, 5-inch promotional item created to introduce new customers to Justworks. We wanted to use storytelling to make the message more interesting and relatable to people who were not familiar with Justworks.
WHAT I WORKED ON // I wrote the copy for this booklet and did all the illustration and design work. Some parts of the story for this project were adapted from a pre-existing Justworks promotional video.
Story Outline
Since the main audience for this project was potential customers who might not have already heard of Justworks, it was important to communicate both what type of product Justworks is exactly (i.e. a software platform), and also how Justworks could benefit the reader's small business.
Storyboards
After coming up with a basic story line and writing some initial copy, I sketched out the layout on storyboards, in order to get a better feel of the pacing and organization of the content. The main call to action for this booklet is to get the reader to learn more online at Justworks.com. I adapted the intro sequence and the Kavita character from the Justworks promotional video — which is featured prominently on the website — in order to increase messaging continuity.
Printing
After finalizing the storyboards, I sketched out detailed versions of the artwork, and then completed the illustrations digitally. Some of these booklets were mailed out to prospected clients along with some Justworks coffee mugs, and the rest were handed out by sales representatives at trade shows and events.
